Tonolucro is acquired by Magazine Luiza

Retailer Magazine Luiza has just announced the purchase of Tonolucro, the delivery of everything. The operation, which was advised by 3Capital Partners, is part of the expansion strategy recently announced by the e-commerce giant through acquisitions of other companies, in different sectors and retailer verticals.

“The spectrum [of acquisition targets] is very broad when you have a vision as comprehensive as ours. Not just any piece fits into the puzzle, but we can buy all types of companies. Don’t be surprised”, Frederico Trajano, CEO of Magazine Luiza, predicted during the 2Q20 results conference call.

Transforming a business

Tonolucro was born in 2010, in Tocantins, with a focus on being a collective purchasing website. Over the years, the company evolved to keep up with consumer habits and, in 2014, after receiving investment from FINEP’s federal TECNOVA program, it began operating as a food and convenience delivery service.

Today, with 34 franchises and nine own units in ten different states, the company known for being the “delivery of everything” has already surpassed the mark of more than 5 million orders delivered.
