M&A Transactions: Top M&A Markets in the Last Quarter

The mergers and acquisitions market could move $4.7 trillion this year, according to information from consultancy Bain, published in the global M&A report for the first half of 2022.

Although the number is a 20% decline from the previous year’s record – $5.9 trillion – it still makes it the second best result in history for the industry.

Unico makes its 7th acquisition and aims to be a Brazilian Big Tech

idtech Unico made its 7th acquisition with the purchase of MakroSystems, a Brazilian company that develops security technologies for financial operations in the digital world. This transaction was worth R$150 million and took place 4 months after Unico raised US$100 million with Goldman Sachs. The acquisition marks an active phase of operations by the corporation.

With the purchase of MakroSystems, Unico aims to expand its “Unico Check” product, which has facial biometric authentication, with different technologies to simplify transactions and protect users in the relationship with private companies. 

Doctoralia acquires Brazilian clinical management startup

Doctoralia, the Docplanner group’s health and appointment scheduling platform, announced in July the acquisition of Brazilian company Feegow, a startup responsible for creating software for managing offices and clinics. 

“The combination of the two companies is desirable from a strategic point of view and will allow us to offer better coverage, from small clinics to hospitals” revealed the CEO of Doctoralia, to PEGN

The process started on the first of August and was implemented in phases. Both platforms have been integrated, with combinations that meet the needs of different types of clients and also the networks of clinics and doctors who work autonomously. 

IDtech tested at BMG uses voice biometrics to prevent fraud

IDtech Minds Digital raised BRL 1.5 million with BR Angels through a seed round, which announces its first external funding. The startup was born in 2017 and was created by a group of former BMG employees, and was born with the first customer – the bank itself – which opened the door to testing voice biometrics technology. 

BMG was interested in the voice authentication solution for the call center as a way to avoid a few million reais in fraud in more than 20 thousand daily calls. 

FSB makes a new acquisition with an eye on the data and obtains a revenue of R$ 400 million

The communication group FSB announced in August the acquisition of the agency JotaCom. The company said, however, that, by purchasing JotaCom, its turnover will reach R$ 400 million in 2022. 

The FSB, best known for its public relations work, will bring knowledge such as working with technology, data intelligence and communication planning into the house. 

“The arrival of JotaCom is another step in the consolidation of FSB Holding in the communication market. This is the seventh brand within our portfolio, which includes Loures, Giusti, Instituto de Pesquisa, F5, Beon and Bússola. holding company, the forecast is to close the year with around R$ 400 million in revenue”, said Marcos Trindade, CEO of FSB holding, in a statement .

Created in 2005, JotaCom has more than 100 professionals and works for companies such as SulAmérica, Duolingo, EspaçoLaser, Privalia and Sicredi. Even being part of the FSB group, JotaCom will continue to be independent.
